We have just returned from a 2 night break at this hotel and can only praise it. We booked it through the KGB Deals and paid £69 per couple for a 2 night stay with cooked breakfast. This was incredible value for money as the hotel is a hidden gem. The hotel is welcoming, clean and has everything you need for a relaxing break. The staff were very friendly without being "in your face". We enjoyed meals in their restaurant both nights and thoroughly enjoyed them. We also enjoyed a drink by the log burner before venturing out on an energetic walk. The games room was well used by us on our break too. Our room was well equipped and had an *** view across to the river and forest. We stayed in room 7, which was a 4 bedded room and although wouldn't have been our first choice of room for 2 couples, actually had a great time as this just added to us having a much needed break. The hotel was fully booked and had no other rooms left. We left the men to carry on drinking in the bar as me and my sister in law took advantage of a peaceful hour in the room reading. Dear Derek and Linda, we have just returned home from our weekend at Tyn-y-Groes and feel the need to complement you and your staff for making our stay comfortable, easy and memorable. It was our first time and it surpassed our expectations. We are regular visitors to Dolgellau for mountain biking or motorcycling and hasten to add that from now on, we will be staying with you.
