Starting from the hotel cross the road, walk 20 metres in a northerly direction and turn down the path towards the river.

Follow the path through a gate, across the roadbridge and cattle grid and turn right onto the grass picnic area.

Follow the river through the trees

Eventually the path splits and you should take the uphill route marked with white footsteps on the trees and a green topped post (just visible in the picture).

Continue until the path crosses a road

and upwards until you cross the cycle path

Take care with speeding bicycles and make sure you cross the path rather than join it. Keep following the green topped posts. The path rises to a set of steps

and continues to rise to a muddy clearing at the end of a forest road

Across the clearing and to the left is the green topped post marking the path. Continue upwards where you emerge from the trees to take in the views.

and a short distance further on are two very welcome seats

Continue along the path through the trees until you reach a track where you turn left.

This track joins a forest road. Turn left onto the forest road

Then after 50 metres turn left again back onto a grassy track noting that the marker post is missing!

After 200 metres turn off to the right onto a narrow footpath where the green topped posts reappear

Continue steeply downhill CROSSING a cycle track. Do not join the cycle track.

Steeply downhill again until you turn left onto a forest road.

Continue along the road with the river Mawddach to the right until you reach the car park and picnic area.

Cross the cattle grid and road bridge Turn right through the gate and follow the path up to the hotel. Have a beer in the hotel...you have earned it.
